The Blanket Exercise
Join us for this meaningful event as we take collective steps towards reconciliation and a deeper understanding of our shared history. We look forward to your participation.
In recognition of National Truth and Reconciliation Day, the Nanton Quality of Life Foundation is hosting an interactive and educational Blanket Exercise workshop. This impactful experience utilizes Indigenous methodologies to deepen our understanding of the shared history between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.
During the workshop, participants will actively engage by stepping onto blankets that symbolize the land and assuming the roles of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. This exercise fosters empathy and awareness of the historical and contemporary realities faced by Indigenous communities.
